Alling Å (stream), east of Randers
Alling Å is a trip I have taken a few times - not because it is easy, but because it always offers something special.
It is a beautiful stream trip that requires a little extra - I have not yet paddled it without having to pass fallen trees along the way.
It is part of the experience, and you have to be prepared to jerk the kayak a little sometimes - most recently we had to go ashore 3 times.
Tur detaljer
Distance: 26,7 km.
Paddle time:: 4 timer og 15 minutter
Start: Nord for Mygind (56.395, 10.207)
Break: Shelter ved Gammel Estrup (blå cirkel)
Finish: Uggelhuse jollehavn
We start north of Mygind and follow the stream. Along the way we pass Gammel Estrup, a historic manor house that rises beautifully from the landscape. A few minutes later we reach the shelter where we have a lunch break.
After lunch, the trip continues towards Allingåbro, after which the landscape opens up and becomes Grund fjord.
It is a really nice day trip, but you will need to plan a little from home, as there is about 12 km between start and finish - about a 14-minute drive. It is not a trip for completely new poddlers, as it can be a bit difficult to get around various fallen trees.
If there is a lot of wind on the day, and thus waves on Randers Fjord, you can park the cars somewhere else (56.4681,10.293930) and end just before the stream turns into a fjord. This makes the trip about 5 km shorter.
