My passion for kayaking

I’ve always loved being outdoors — and water has always felt like my natural element, right down to my zodiac sign. My kayaking journey began back in 10th grade, the first time I ever sat in a kayak. Until then, my only paddling experience had been a handful of family canoe trips.

After that first taste, it took a few years before I returned to the water. It wasn’t until after high school, when I was looking for a new community, that I joined Aarhus Canoe and Kayak Club. That’s where everything changed. I didn’t just find a sport — I found a lifestyle. For me, kayaking is so much more than physical activity. It’s freedom, connection, and adventure. It’s fresh air, quiet moments in nature, and a community of wonderful people who share the same joy.

How it all started

In the fall of 2021, I created MyWaterAdventures on Instagram. I started out sharing tips and tricks. I want it to be a place to inspire others to explore new waters. I know how overwhelming it can be to plan kayak routes, especially longer ones, so I began sharing my tracked trips to make it easier for others.

This website is an extension of that mission. My goal is to make discovering new places more accessible and less intimidating — whether you’re planning a calm day trip or a multi-day expedition.

My experiences on the water

Kayaking has given me some incredible experiences. One of the toughest - and most unforgettable - was paddling around Fyn in November 2023. It pushed me both physically and mentally. The next big dream? To paddle all the way around Denmark in spring 2026.

I also spent two months working as a kayak guide in Greenland, sharing my passion with travelers and showing them one of the most breathtaking places on Earth.

Most recently, I spent 10 days paddling in Scotland — another amazing adventure filled with wild nature and new perspectives.

My skills

I paddle both sea kayaks and touring/racing kayaks, and I’m a certified instructor in both disciplines — with the highest level of qualification in touring/racing. In practice, I paddle about equally in both types.

I’ve also explored waterfall/whitewater kayaking, surfski, and SUP. I love pushing my technical skills and trying new ways to move on the water.
