The trip takes us to the beautiful area of the Summer Isles in northern ScotlandWe meet in Inverness where we have lunch. After lunch we will do a little walk around the city and then go to Ullapool, where we have dinner and sleep at Broomfield Holiday park.On Monday we will start our travel around the Summer Isles.
What to expect around Summer Isles:
Accoring to Kayak Summer Isles, who is our provider for our 3 days kayaking
The Summer Isles are an iconic archipelago filled with archways, sea caves, and secluded beaches. The area is rich in wildlife and offers some of the finest kayaking in Scotland, with endless possibilities for exploration. Experiencing the islands on an overnight trip is often the best way to take in their dramatic landscapes. The exact route will depend on the weather and the group’s level of ambition.
The archipelago offers a range of outstanding wilderness camping locations, which will be chosen to suit the conditions. A rotational approach to campsite use helps minimise impact on the environment, and all trips follow a strict leave-no-trace and pack-in/pack-out ethic. In camp, a three-course dinner is prepared and served with drinks. If the weather turns wet, there is a spacious shelter available; on clear evenings, the group can relax on the rocks and enjoy the evening light.
One of the great advantages of an overnight journey is the chance to paddle at sunset. The red tones of the billion-year-old Torridonian sandstone glow spectacularly as the sun drops toward the horizon, creating one of the most memorable experiences of the trip—when conditions allow.
If weather conditions are not suitable for exploring the islands directly, alternative routes slightly farther north or south may be chosen to take advantage of more sheltered waters.
